On the 12th & 13th April, Eddie and Clare attended a WELL Building workshop led by Elaine Aye and Justin Downey of the RWDI. The WELL building Standard (or WELL) is a performance based system for measuring certifying and monitoring features of the built environment and their impact on human health and well-being. The standard is organised into 7 concepts - Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Fitness, Comfort and Mind. Each concept is broken down further into features, each with specific health intents. A project that has achieved WELL Certification helps create a healthy environment for its occupants and visitors.
The design ethos of our studios already incorporates many of the features promoted in WELL. We always have our clients’ best interests in mind, so our design focus is not only on studios that sound great but studios which are also attractive, comfortable, well lit and a pleasure to work in. Promoting the WELL standard and building with this in mind sits very comfortably with Veale Associates’ aspirations.
